Surface Mining and Reclamation Permit Information
To explore for coal or uranium or to mine for coal, a person must first obtain a permit from the Surface Mining and Reclamation Division. The following application forms are required to begin the exploration or mining process.
Coal Exploration
- Less than 250 tons of coal - Notice – Coal Exploration Activities < 250 Tons
- More than 250 tons of coal - Notice – Coal Exploration Activities > 250 Tons
