Online Examination Fee Changes Begin September 1

August 31, 2022

Beginning September 1, 2022, individuals registering for online alternative fuels examinations being administered by a testing or proctoring service must pay any fee charged by the service vendor, in addition to the examination fee to the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC).

This is in accordance with recent amendments to 16 Texas Administrative §9.10, relating to Rules Examination, to incorporate provisions of Senate Bill 1582 (87th Legislature, Regular Session). Senate Bill 1582 amended Natural Resources Code §113.087 and §113.088 to allow required license examination to be performed by a proctoring service. To view the rule, visit the Texas Secretary of State website at https://www.sos.state.tx.us/texreg/archive/July152022/Adopted%20Rules/16.ECONOMIC%20REGULATION.html#60.

If you have questions regarding alternate fuels examinations, contact the RRC at training-exams@rrc.texas.gov or 512-463-2682.
