RRC Urges Caution to Help Prevent Wildfires
August 05, 2022Dry conditions throughout many parts of the state have elevated the threat of wildfires in Texas this week.
The Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) asks oil & gas and pipeline operators to do their part to help prevent any accidental fires.
Operators should be cognizant about removing any items such as trash, dead grass, or weeds around gas powered pumping units and compressor stations. Mufflers and exhaust pipes on these units can get very hot and start a fire given the circumstances.
Remaining cautious and vigilant will be a great help to residents, emergency responders, and operators during the current precarious situations.
